William Baggett has been referred to as the "delicate surrealist" owing to his alluring imagery, which subtly steps just outside reality. He also charms the viewer with a palette dominated by light earth-toned pastel colors.
Baggett has long been recognized as a master in color lithography. Notably, he is the Chairman of the Department of Art and Design at the University of Southern Mississippi and a teaching Professor in Printmaking and Graphic Design. He has won a number of distinguished awards, and his prints may be found in the permanent collection of many art museums throughout the United States, Europe and Japan. Since 1980, many of his editions of fine color lithographs have been published in Paris by the leading publishing ateliers.
